World Top Darts to return to Belgium twice in 2025

Darts fans can look forward to two absolute top tournaments in our country next year. The first of two PDC European Tour tournaments in Wieze from 7 to 9 March, will now be called the Lecot Belgian Darts Open. Ticket sales open this Friday 25 October. At the end of the summer, from 29 to 31 August, the Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy will follow.

The PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) European Tour Darts is a series of 14 tournaments on the continent of Europe with a prize pool of 200,000 Euros (£175,000) per event. In 2022, the PDC European Tour descended on the Oktoberhallen in Wieze for the first time. Since then, big names such as Dave Chisnall, Michael Van Gerwen and sensation Luke Littler have taken home the trophy in Wieze.

Lecot – a construction and industry wholesaler – is the new title partner, therefore we now refer to the Lecot Belgian Darts Open. Alexander Algoet, Business Unit Manager Darts at Golazo: “We are extremely pleased to have found a new and reliable title partner in Lecot for the next two editions of the Belgian Darts Open. Lecot swears by long-term relationships and reliability and that is exactly what we want to build on with them in this new story. The fact that, as a family-run business, they have grown from two local shops into the biggest national player in hardware, tools, personal protective equipment and so much more, shows that, like us, they have the ambition to do better every day. We look forward to our cooperation in the coming years.”

Lecot is equally pleased with this new partnership. CEO Rik Lecot: “Darts is the sport par excellence that resonates with our customers, partners and employees. Did you know that many top darts players used to work as professionals in the construction sector? Moreover, the Belgian Darts Open has a great sporting atmosphere, shows respect for the athletes’ technique and training, and proves the accessibility of the sport. These are values that are also embedded in Lecot’s DNA and corporate culture.”

From noon on Friday 25 October, darts fans and supporters can order their tickets for the Lecot Belgian Darts Open on the website

www.lecotbelgiandartsopen.be. The event was very popular in previous years and darts has only grown in Belgium since then. So do not hesitate to purchase your tickets if you want to go. The Oktoberhallen in Wieze can accommodate almost 3,000 spectators per session, with one afternoon and one evening session each day. Once again, the organisers hope to welcome around 18,000 enthusiastic darts fans to Wieze.

Blåkläder, title partner of the Belgian Darts Open until 2024, will become title partner of the Flanders Darts Trophy, the second Belgian leg of the PDC European Tour, in 2025. The Blåkläder Flanders Darts Trophy will take place from 29 to 31 August. Ticket sales for this event will start in spring 2025.
